Dear God, Our Lady, Angels, Spirits, and Anyone Else To Whom It May Concern:
The description on Ranger's Petfinder page ("a happy fella ready to find a forever home") just didn't seem to do justice to the soulful brown eyes and ready-to-give-kisses grin in the picture. So yesterday to get the low-down on the Wonder Dog Named Ranger, I called Butch Cappel.
Who is Butch Cappel, You ask? (Okay, that's strictly rhetorical, God & Co, because it's obvious with that omniscience thing going and that You made him, You know exactly who Butch Cappel is.) Butch is the founder and executive director of K9PRO SPORTS International. I'll be posting a lot more about Butch in the future, because he's funny and fascinating and very well may BE the future of saving millions of animals' lives. But this is about Ranger, so for now I'll just say that Butch is important to this post because he owns the facility where Ranger is currently boarded and knows Ranger better than anyone else right now.
When I asked Butch about Ranger, he said, "If Timmy were a track star, Ranger would be his Lassie." I grew up with The Lassie Show, so I totally got that. However, not everyone reading this dates back to the Truman Administration; so I asked Butch to elaborate further. "Ranger is high energy and a very devoted kinda guy. Ranger is the dog for people with somewhere to go, and he will be by your side every step of the way at any speed."
God & Co, if Ranger's pictures haven't already stolen the heart of those reading this, and the idea of a dog so true he'd be by their side every step of the way hasn't tugged at their hearstrings--well, as my daddy would have said, "They just don't have no poetry in their souls."
For those with poetic souls and the desire to find out more about Ranger--better yet, to make an appointment to see him in person to experience all his wonderfulness--contact Christy Spence at christyspence@rr.tx.com or call (972) 533-8147.
